If you don’t know who Glen E. Friedman is, then either stop what you’re doing right now and do a little homework, or simply watch the new episode of The Nine Club. That probably makes the most sense.

Glen is an interesting, intense, extremely entertaining guy and a personality like his doesn’t just stem from nothing—he’s earned this attitude, and in all honesty, doesn’t give a damn what you or I think either way. Great episode, to say the least!

Glen has been behind the lens and behind the scenes of some of skateboarding’s most pivotal moments over the years, from the OG Dogtown days to early Skateboarder magazine to countless other examples that you’ll soon learn all about, but the mystique hardly stops there. Stuff like producing Suicidal Tendencies first album, his iconic Black Flag (really any band he’s shot) photos, getting in with Def Jam, shooting the most iconic skaters, and finding photography through skateboarding in general—the guy is fired up and has a million stories to tell, each as entertaining as the last.

The man says what he wants, when he wants, and that’s just part of why he’s so admired and respected. If you had decades and decades worth of life experience deeply embedded in these crazy cultures, you’d have some stories too. You may not agree with everything he says, but it’s impossible to argue with most of it. There are definitely a few unexpected gems in here.

He talks Olympics, expresses his views on modern skateboarding, explains how skateboarding literally runs through his veins, wild music stories, memorable sessions and so, so, so much more. The guy is a walking, talking encyclopedia and speaks a million miles a minute. Pay attention! Or you just might miss something special. But enough from me, hit play and dive into the episode yourself.
